Skenasdoodles began long before our first litter. I grew up around Golden Retrievers. My dear granddad bred them while I was very young.
Many years later, when my eldest son showed a slight reaction to dog hair, we started researching alternatives. That search led us to the Goldendoodle and to a very special girl named Stella.
Stella was our first Goldendoodle, welcomed into our home from another breeder in Kent. She was everything we hoped for and more. Gentle, affectionate, intuitive and wonderfully balanced in temperament.
She became the mum of our very first Goldendoodle litter and had two beautiful litters during her working life.
Six months after Stella joined us, we brought home her half sister Lola. Lola was very different to Stella, she had her own beautiful nature. Calm, loving and completely devoted to family life. Lola had two litters here with us.
We have now sadly lost both of these girls.
Together, Stella and Lola formed the foundation of everything that followed here at Skenasdoodles.
After she was spayed, Stella stepped into an entirely new role. She became the best auntie any litter of puppies could ever wish for. She would sit quietly and watch over our mums, and every single one of them trusted her completely. She checked the puppies, cleaned them, guarded them and offered reassurance as only she could. She was calm, confident and completely devoted to her new role within our pack.
For almost fifteen years Stella was truly the top dog at Skenasdoodles. She was deeply respected by every member of our gang and looked after each one of them in her own steady way. No matter their needs, Stella protected them and kept order with a quiet strength. She remained by our side for almost fifteen years, her presence is still felt every day.

When we began our breeding journey, it quickly became clear that thorough health testing was not as common as we expected. For us, health testing was essential. Hip and elbow scoring, DNA testing and full transparency were never optional. We committed to using laboratories and the British Veterinary Association for official hip scoring so that our breeding programme would always be built on strong and responsible foundations.

As we searched for a suitable stud dog, we faced another challenge. Very few fully health tested dogs were available for ethical cross breeding. This led us to make a significant decision. We would welcome our own Standard Poodle.
After many conversations with an experienced breeder, explaining our vision and our commitment to responsible breeding, we were incredibly fortunate to be entrusted with a beautiful Standard Poodle with personal breeding rights.
That is how Django came into our lives.
Django opened a completely new chapter for us. We had never owned a Standard Poodle before, and it was a learning curve that we embraced wholeheartedly. He was exceptionally intelligent, loyal, intuitive and deeply connected to his family.
He completed the trio that shaped Skenasdoodles.
Stella, Lola and Django.

The most loyal companion and the quiet leader of our gang. In charge, yet always fair, Stella set the standard for every dog that followed her. She was an exceptional mummy to her own litters and the most incredible auntie to every puppy born after. Protective, steady and deeply devoted, she watched over mums and puppies with calm authority.

Our calm and affectionate girl who simply needed to be close. If she felt overlooked, a gentle paw would remind you she was there. She always wanted part of her body touching yours and became your shadow wherever you walked. If you were not nearby, she was glued to Stella’s side.
Half sister by blood and inseparable by nature, the bond bet

Half sister by blood and inseparable by nature, the bond between Stella and Lola was something truly special.

A beautifully natured Standard Poodle who could always read the room and knew exactly how to carry himself. Thoughtful and intuitive, he was without doubt the most polite stud dog we have ever owned. He waited for instruction, worked considerately and approached his role with calm confidence.

Django sired some of the most incredible puppies and is the proud father of our Mufasa, who has been our own resident Standard stud for the past seven years. Like father, like son, both are strikingly handsome with exceptional temperaments to match.
